When I first started managing a CODDY branch, I thought that the main thing was processes and manuals. But reality quickly showed me that the key skills of a manager are the ability to work with people

Management skills in action: the story of a successful manager
In two years of work, the branch under Arthur's leadership has grown from 50 to 300 students. How did her managerial competencies develop?

First challenge: team building
"We had to find teachers who not only knew programming, but who could work with children. It seemed impossible," Arthur recalls. The solution came unexpectedly: he started looking not for ready-made specialists, but for people with potential and the right values.

Key skill: emotional intelligence
In working with children and parents, the emotional intelligence of the head is especially important. Once the school faced a serious complaint: a parent was dissatisfied with the teaching methodology.

"Instead of taking a defensive stance, we invited him to participate in the development of the program. Now he is a member of the parents' committee and helps us to become better," says Arthur.

Delegation: from micromanagement to trust
At first, the head tried to control every aspect of the school. The result? Constant overwork and stress. The system of delegation was the salvation:

  • Administrative tasks – to administrator
  • Methodological issues – to senior lecturer
  • Marketing – to external specialist

Crisis management: a story of transformation
When the pandemic hit, the branch had to go completely online in two weeks. “It was the moment of truth for management skills,” Arthur admits. The team made it through thanks to:

  • Clear assignment of responsibilities
  • Daily short calls
  • Focus on teacher support

Strategic planning skills
Every quarter, the branch manager holds a strategy session with the team. At the last one they identified the need for a new direction - programming for preschoolers. A month later, they launched a pilot group.

Results of good management
In two years of operation, the branch has achieved impressive results:

  • Revenue growth of 200%
  • Reduction of customer churn to 5%
  • NPS of teachers – 87%
  • Average employee tenure – 1.5 years
Competent management is the key to the success of any business
